Daily Diet for Working Women


Health experts suggest women make time for food breaks. Make a custom food chart to maintain a healthy diet and avoid hunger pangs during the day. It can be fun! Use these points as a guide.

7 am: Begin with lemon

"Add three teaspoons of lemon juice to lukewarm water and drink it first thing in the morning," says Dr Ravneet Arora, a nutritionist. This concoction facilitates absorption of nutrients and eliminates fat from the body.

7.30 am: Tea and Biscuits

Biscuits prevent acidity in the morning. "Eat digestive biscuits or cream crackers which give the body fibre," says Dr Arora.

8.30 am: Breakfast like a queen

"You should eat plenty of carbohydrates in the morning to give your body enough calories for the day," says Rajesh Desai, a fitness expert. Dr Arora says a good breakfast should include one of the following: wheat/oat flakes with milk or a brown bread sandwich.

"Breakfast should be a full meal because the stomach has been empty for 10-12 hours," she says.


11.30 am: Mid-morning snack

"Drink fresh fruit juice to speed up fat absorption. Squeeze in two biscuits or plain wheat khakras to avoid feeling too hungry by lunchtime," says Dr Arora.

2 pm: Eat lunch like a common man

Lunch should be lighter than breakfast to avoid feeling lethargic in the afternoon, says Desai. "Lunch should fulfill your nutritional requirements for the day. It can include salad, wheat," says Dr Arora.

5 pm: Mid-evening snack

Dr Arora recommends eating at least one seasonal fruit along with some roasted nuts, popcorn or whole wheat bread in the evening. "A handful of roasted nuts are ideal since they satisfy your hunger without getting too many calories in," she says.

8 pm: Eat dinner like a pauper

According to Desai, dinner should be the lightest meal of the day. "Dinner should include soup, porridge or salad, with wheat ," says Dr Arora.

10 pm: A glass of warm milk?

Before going to bed. "It takes care of your calcium intake and some claim it helps them sleep better," says Dr Arora.

"Your metabolism depends on the frequency of eating and the amount of exercise you do," Dr. Arora adds.

So pin up this timetable at the soft board on your desk, or set reminders on your cell phone. You need to eat every 2- 3 hours to stay healthy.

Women spend 8,000 minutes a year nagging their husbands

Survey Said :

London: Although some women may gripe about their husbands being a nag, a new study says the reality is it`s the fair sex which spends 7,920 minutes a year nagging their hubbies about household work, drinking and their health.

And, this equals two-and-a-half hours of ear-bashing each week -- which totals 11 hours a month or five-and-a-half days a year, according to the study which is based on a survey
of 3,000 people carried out by health campaign group Everyman.

The survey concluded the most common subject women nagged their partners about was not helping to tidy the home.

Other complaints included not helping to wash dishes, drinking too much and not visiting the doctor to get checked out.

The majority of women were not ashamed about nagging, with 87 per cent admitting to giving their partner a hard time to get them to do something. While most men said they would never admit it, 83 per cent surveyed said they often thought their partner was right to nag them, the `Daily Mail` reported. Although nagging is often an unwelcome aspect of a relationship, the strategy appeared to be quite effective according to the results of the study.

Nearly half the men questioned said they "gave in" after an hour if their partner carried on with the topic while a further 21 per cent caved in after a couple of hours for the sake of having a "quiet life", the study found.

SunBurn Remedy


1.An effective remedy for treating sunburn would be to apply a cloth dipped in milk on the affected area. This would provide relief from the burn.

2.Another effective remedy would be to rub the affected area with mustard oil. Apart from removing the burn, it would also provide relief from the itching.

3.Apply sliced cucumber or potato on the sun-burnt area. They would provide a soothing effect to the area.

4.Lavender oil is beneficial in treating sunburn. Apply it on the affected area to get relief from the pain and itching.

5.Take some sandalwood powder and water. Prepare a paste from the two and apply on the affected area. This is sure to relieve a person from the burning sensation.

6.In a bowl, mix tomato juice and buttermilk, in the ratio of 1:6. Apply this on the sun burnt area. Wash it after 30 minutes.

7.Mix equal proportions of olive oil and vinegar and apply on the affected area. Wash this after about an hour. This will bring relief from the sunburn.

8.Another effective home remedy would be to mix barley flour, honey and raw egg, to make a paste. Apply this paste over the sun-burnt area and wash off after sometime.

9.Take some water in a bowl and put lettuce leaves in it. Place it on flame and bring to a boil. Once it has cooled down, strain the liquid and apply it on the affected area, using cotton balls.

10.Before bathing, pour a cup of white cider vinegar into the bathtub and enjoy a long bath. This would provide relief from the sunburn.

11.Mix wheat flour, milk and olive oil to make a paste. Apply this paste on the affected area. After the paste dries, wash it off.

12.Applying Aloe Vera gel on the affected area proves beneficial in treating sunburns.

13.In a blender, mix 2 tomatoes and 1 cucumber and make a puree. To this, add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this paste over the suntanned and sun-burnt skin. Once dry, dab the puree once again. Repeat the process three times. It would help remove the burn and also add a glow to the skin.

14.Boil some cabbage leaves and mash them. Apply the mashed cabbage over the tanned and sun-burnt areas. Wash off it after 15 minutes.

15.Rubbing green gourd on the affected areas, 3 to 4 times a day, is helpful in removing the sunburn.

16.A mixture of honey and lime is effective in treating sunburn. In 2 tbsp of honey, add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this over the affected area. It would help lighten the tan and ease off the pain as well.

17.In 3 tablespoons of milk, add 1 tbsp of turmeric powder. Apply this all over the affected area. Once dry, wet it a little and rub in circular motions, before rinsing it off with cool water.


Alexander the Great... worth reading...

The great greek king Alexander, after conquering many kingdoms was returning home. On the way, he fell ill and he was bedridden for months. With death drawing close, Alexander realized how his conquests, his great army, his sharp sword and all his wealth were of no use.
He called his generals and said, " I will depart from this world soon. But I have three wishes. Please fufill my wishes without fail." With tears flowing down their cheeks, the generals agreed to abide by their king's last wishes.
" My first desire is that, " said Alexander, "my physicians alone must carry my coffin. "
" Secondly when my coffin is being carried to the grave, the path leading to the graveyard should be strewn with gold, silver and precious stones which I have collected in my treasure.
My third and last wish is that both my hands should be kept dangling out of my coffin.
The people who had gathered there wondered at the king's strange wishes. But no one dared to question. Alexander's favorite general kissed his hand and pressed them to his heart. " O king, we assure you that your wishes will all be fulfilled. But tell us why do you make such strange wishes ?"
At this Alexander took a deep breath and said, " I would like the world to know of the three lessons I have just learned. I want my physicians to carry my coffin because people should realize that no doctor can really cure anybody. They are powerless and cannot save a person from the clutches of death. So let not people take life for granted. The second wish of strewing gold, silver and other riches on the way to the graveyard is to tell people that not even a fraction of gold can be taken by me. Let people realize that it is sheer waste of time to chase wealth.
And about my third wish of having my hands dangling out of the coffin, I want people to know that I came empty handed into this world and empty handed I go out of this world."
Alexander's last words: " Bury my body, do not build any monument, keep my hands outside so that the world knows the person who won the world had nothing in his hands when dying".

90/10 Principle

( or at least, the way you react to a situations)

What is this Principle ?
10% of life is made up of what happens to you .
90% of life is decided by how you react ....

What does this mean ?
We really have NO control over 10% of
what happens to us.
We have NO control over this 10%.
The other 90% is different. How ? ... By your reaction.

You cannot control a red light. However, you can control your reaction.
Do not let people fool you. You can control how you react.

Let us use an example ....
You are having breakfast with your family.
Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt.
You have no control over what has just happened.
What happens next will be determined by how you react.

You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over.
She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your wife
and you criticise her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table.
A short verbal battle follows.

You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs,
you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish her
breakfast and getting ready to go to school. She misses the bus.

Your spouse must leave immediately for work.
You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school.
Because you are late, you drive 40 miles per hour
in a 30 mph speed limit zone.

After a 15 minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away,
you arrive at school, your daughter runs into the building
without saying goodbye.

After arriving at the office 20 minute late,
You realize you forgot your briefcase.
Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems
to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home.

When you arrive home, you find a small wedge
in your relationship with your wife and daughter.
Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning.

Why did you have a bad day ?
A) Did the coffee cause it ?
B) Did your daughter cause it ?
C) Did the policeman cause it ?
D) Did you cause it ?
The answer is "D"

You had no control over what happened with the coffee.
How you reacted in those 5 seconds
is what caused your bad day.

Here is what could have and should have happened.
Coffee splashes over you.
Your daughter is about to cry.
You gently say:
" It's okay honey, you just need to be More careful next time."

Grabbing a towel you go upstairs and change your shirt.
You grab your briefcase, and you come back down in time to look
through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns
and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early, a cheerfully greet the staff.
Notice the difference ?

Two different scenarios. Both started the same.
Both ended different. Why ?
Because of how you reacted. You really have no control over 10%
of what happens in your life.
The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Now you know the 90/10 Principle.
Apply it and you will be amazed at the results.
You will lose nothing if you try it.
The 90/10 Principle is incredible.
Very few know and apply this principle.
The Result? You will see it by yourself.

Millions of people are suffering from undeserved
stress, trials, problems and headaches.
We all must understand and apply the 90/10 principle.
It can change your life ! Enjoy it ....

It only takes willpower to give ourselves
permission to make the experience.

Absolutely everything we do, give, say or even think,
it's like a boomerang. It will come back to us...

If we want to receive, we need to learn to give first...
Maybe we will end with our hands empty,
but our heart will be filled with love....
